June’s Book Club Meeting

pa

Hope everyone is enjoying their summers.  I thought summer would never get here as it kept raining.  But it came on with a vengeance.  Time to get out the sprinklers and pools and swimsuits!!  Then mommie can sit outside and read while the kiddos splash around!! Ok here was our selection for June: Princess Academy by Shannon Hale I met a super cute blogger Annie earlier this week and she told me her mother is working with the author to compose a musical score for this book.  They are … [Read more...]

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for something to look forward to.  For those that don’t know, we are currently house hunting.  It has been a hard process.  Everything we love has a major draw back to it.  Plus we are trying to stay in the same community so it completely narrows down our options.  And I keep holding back on major craft projects because we are moving and half packed.  So if you notice things getting a little sparse around here, just know that we are probably … [Read more...]

Cheesecake

I LOVE me some cheesecake!!  Yummy, Yummy, Yummy!!  So over the years I have tried A LOT of recipes for cheesecake and here it is, the very best one ever!! Super cute shadow boxes and look what she did with the butterflies.  Great idea, wish I had thought of it but I didn’t.  Here’s what I did.  I took some of these:   You can see where this is going can’t you?  I’ve had this box of hair clips … [Read more...]

Speaking of blog Makeovers…

Oh wait.  We weren’t speaking of blog makeovers.  Well we are now.  I did a few things to this ol Blog here. First of all, I made it wider.  I love how it unclutters everything.  There is a great tutorial here for how to make your blog wider.  I also did a few things with my background image.  I didn’t like how blogger had a limit of 300k for uploading your own background.  So I uploaded mine to photobucket and then went into the html and added it … [Read more...]

Great new product and a Giveaway!!

I made a great discovery!!  You know those photos that look like letters that everyone is using lately.  Well I tried to make a last name picture for my mother in law using that technique.  I spent hours in the yard and finally gave up.  There are not a lot of cute things that look like letters.  Believe me!!  So I was so happy to stumble upon Buyalphabetphotos.com and I used their photos for these projects: I super love it!!  I am also making a few into … [Read more...]

Father’s Day Printable

glad[5]

Here is what my girls are giving their Dad for Father’s Day. I love how the text looks a little like iron.  It’s very manly to me.  I left space at the bottom for them to write “I love you Daddy” and sign their names in their cute elementary school handwriting.  I hope it is special to him. If you’d like to download a high quality printable for the great Dads in your life, just click on the pic above.  Let me know what you do with it!! I’m linking here!! … [Read more...]

How to make a flat sheet into a fitted sheet

step 7_thumb[1]

So I was on the lookout the other day for some fitted sheets.  Guess what, you cannot find just a fitted sheet.  Ok let me rephrase that, you can find a fitted sheet in the 200 thread count itchy scratch sheets.  Once you get to 400 thread count or higher you can only find sets.  And believe me I went to 5 different stores looking.  So if you don’t need a flat sheet, fitted sheet and two pillowcases, what are you to do?  Also, what do you do with all the flat sheets you have stacked in … [Read more...]
