Nail art

I love doing my nails.  Especially pedicures.  I love having a pop of color.  There are so many new products for nails.  It’s another way to be creative.

Two of my daughters have birthdays in March, so we decided to invite some people over and have a girls night in.  Emma is really girly and she was so excited to have a girls night.  She kept saying is it time for the girls night yet…is it time for the girls night yet?

I got a bunch of Sally Hansen products to do our mani pedis.  I have been using Sally Hansen products for years now.  Something like 15 years.  I got all my Sally Hansen products at Walgreens.  Make sure you use your balance rewards card while you are there.  This is my favorite product of theirs:

french manicure pen

It’s a French Manicure pen.  I remember when Sally Hansen came out with this pen.  I was looking for an easy way to do french tips.  I kept saying someone should come out with a paint pen.  Like the ones they have for crafting.  They must have heard me lol.  There are other colors but white will always be my favorite.

They also have polish strips.

nail polish strips. These are awesome!

I really like the argyle.  They are easy to apply and they last a long time.

argyle nails using nail polish strips

Aren’t they so stinking cute?  We had several people at our girls night trying these polish strips.  The design is already done for you.

Others decided to do their own designs.  It was so much fun seeing what everyone did.  We were really inspired by Spring in these designs.

these are easy cute nails to make for little fingers. You don't have to worry about them staying still too long.

These polka dot nails were great for the littlest fingers.  You do the base coat and then after it dries, take the french tip pen and make little dots.  It’s a great design because little kids have a hard time sitting still.  You don’t have to worry about making straight lines.  If they move and a dot gets a little out of place, it is still cute.  Eden loved her nails so much.  She kept saying I am going to keep them till my birthday.  And she did.  Doing the whole girls night made her feel pretty and special.

cute nail art designs

These are Samantha’s nails.  They were done by painting a pink base coat.  Then using black polish for the tips.  I dotted the french tip pen in between the two.  Samantha isn’t as girly as her sisters.  She likes to play hard and likes unique quirky things {like her mother} These nails were perfect for her.

mint white heart nail art

These are my second favorite nails on the night.  {You might have to look close to see, the camera didn’t pick it up very well.} We started with mint base color.  Then I made the heart by doing two upward strokes in the pink.  Basically drawing a V.  I took the french tip pen and made lines of dots…kind of like a trail leading toward the heart.  Emma called it a necklace design.

These are fun toes for spring. Cute strawberry nail art

I call this design Strawberry toes.  They are such a fun spring time design.  Start with a base color.  Use the french tip pen {told you I use it A LOT} to draw on your french tips.  Then make dots all over the base color.  Aren’t they cute?

graphic black and white nail art

My cute friend and neighbor did these graphic nails.  I really like the high contrast. If you follow along on instagram, you have already seen these.

I had such fun with this girls night in.  It’s great to get together and create.  My girls felt so pretty and I loved giving them that moment.

If you’d like to have your own girls night in, Insta Dri and Salon Effects products are currently BOGO 50% at Walgreens until 3/31/13.  You can also get a coupon for Salon Effects on the Walgreens app.
