Updating a plain glass vase

I wrote this post as part of a campaign with Plaid and Blueprint Social. The opinions in this post are my own.

My hubby bought me flowers a little while ago.

loving the colors in these gorgeous spring flowers

They looked like spring in the middle of all the snow.  It was such a great surprise.  I like to dry and keep flowers.  They remind me that someone was thinking of me.  But I have a lot of plain glass vases.  I wanted to do something to dress this one up a little.  Enter FolkArt Enamels.

love these stencils, they are sticky and you can reuse them.

I love their stencils.  They are sticky so you can place them and they will stay.  Plus you can re-position them and re use them.

I wanted to do just a little something on this vase.  Nothing huge but something small, pretty and unexpected.

{p.s. glass is hard to photo…I promise this vase is clean}

I love the idea of a little something to make a glass vase personal.

I chose this cute stencil and a teal color.

I love the simple small update on this glass vase.

See how cute?  There is just something about a small precious design on this vase.

I dried out the flowers and here is what it all looks like:

Stencil on your glass vases...why didn't I think of that.

I love having the reminder of that cute bouquet around the house.

Do you guys keep your flowers?  I hate having them for a short while and then just throwing them out.  Seems like such a waste.  Do you have any other ideas of what to do with them?

  1. Very pretty!! I usually only get flowers during a holiday when I know people are coming over and have my share of plain glass vases! What a great idea!! Have you seen that powdery stuff you can use to dry your flowers? I think its a bit of a process from what I remember but keeps roses color and dries it out.
