I made these cute custom towels to go with our gift when hubbys sister got married last month. I’m so glad I decided to try them because I just love how they came out.
Aren’t they the cutest ever?
To make these I just used heat transfer vinyl. That is the stuff that you iron on. I cut mine out with my Silhouette cameo but if you don’t have a cutting machine, you can get precut phrases at craft stores. Look around until you find something you like.
After you have it cut out and you weed out the excess vinyl, you just place it on the towel and iron it down. The only difference I found is that you have to iron more than normal because of the terry cloth. So iron it until you feel like it is stuck down really well. I took the plastic off and then put down a thin cloth and ironed over it a couple more times. Just to be sure.
I just love how they came out. I am going to make more for my girls so they always know which towel is theirs.
I wanted to make sure these were safe to wash so I did a little research and found this great tutorial for custom towels on How Does She. She made towels for her kiddos and she says they wash just fine. Yay! How bad would it be if the first time the couple washed these, they came off? Good to know they will stay fine.
I think these may be my go to present. I just love them. What do you normally bring to weddings?
If you like these custom towels, please feel free to share and pin them.
