I play the piano for the choir at Church and I just love it. We’ve been working on a hymn lately called Love at Home. I got thinking about the lyrics. I’ve heard these over and over since I was little. And I always liked them. The picture they described was so peaceful to me. So as we worked on this song in choir, I had the idea to make a printable with these words. Here are the lyrics for those of you not familiar.
1. There is beauty all aroundWhen there’s love at home; There is joy in ev’ry soundWhen there’s love at home.Peace and plenty here abide,Smiling sweet on ev’ry side.Time doth softly, sweetly glideWhen there’s love at home.Love at home, love at home;Time doth softly, sweetly glideWhen there’s love at home.
2. In the cottage there is joyWhen there’s love at home;Hate and envy ne’er annoyWhen there’s love at home.Roses bloom beneath our feet; All the earth’s a garden sweet,Making life a bliss completeWhen there’s love at home.Love at home, love at home;Making life a bliss completeWhen there’s love at home.
3. Kindly heaven smiles aboveWhen there’s love at home; All the world is filled with loveWhen there’s love at home.Sweeter sings the brooklet by;Brighter beams the azure sky.Oh, there’s One who smiles on highWhen there’s love at home.Love at home, love at home;Oh, there’s One who smiles on highWhen there’s love at home.
Text and music: John Hugh McNaughton, 1829-1891
Doesn’t that sound lovely? There is beauty all around…Roses bloom beneath your feet…All the World is filled with Love.
I wanted to remember these lyrics and remind myself to work on Love at Home. So I made a printable. I have an idea for exactly where I am going to put this and other printables but for now, Here is my Love at Home printable.
I can’t wait to show you what I’m going to do with mine. But I have to make two or three more. I’m sure I will offer them up on the blog too.
