Changes are coming…
So last month my brother calls and says, Guess what? We got this cool web site for you! And I said, Okayyy…. ? Like an early birthday present?
After I took a look around here, I knew my brother and sister-in-law did great! I devoured this blog and felt right at home. They knew it would suit me because it’s about the kinds of things that are most important to me: kids, family, home, community, nature, and every-day living.
It seems Connie is ready to move on to bigger and better things and Measured by the Heart is now in new hands.
I’m aiming for my family to bring you all the same sort of wonderful articles and tips you’ve found here in the past. No, it won’t be exactly the same because we’re different people. But I know you’re going to love all the ways we blog!
I’m excited to be bringing you terrific new notions and having cool conversations about the things that matter to me and my family, and to all you readers.
I hope you get to know me better over time, but for now, here are the basics about my life. I have four grown children and eight grandchildren. We live on several hundred acres of rural land smack dab in the middle of increasing urban development. All my kids and 7/8ths of my grandkids live very close, most right here on the farm.
We raise beef cows and bees, have a bunch of dogs, go fishing in our ponds, plant trees and flowers everywhere. We have a pool on our farm that’s off to itself in the corner of the pasture by the creek and woods (not in any one person’s yard), where we hold frequent family parties, complete with splashing kids, homemade ice cream, and plenty of food cooked on the barbeque grill.
When we all get together, there’s usually about twenty of us, from 6–86, milling around, making lots of noise and chaos, exchanging ideas, arguing about how to fix all the girls’ hair or where to shop for the best bargains.
So keep reading and I hope you’ll give me lots of feedback on everything you see here at Measured by the Heart!
