Master Bathroom Feature wall

I have been wanting to do something with the Master Bath for a while. When we first moved in, it was painted a mud brown. Bad color for a bathroom. But I have also been wanting to do something with the family room and the piano room and each of my girls rooms...you get the picture. The Master bath is a big deal for me. With my fibro, sometimes the only thing that takes the edge off is soaking in a steaming hot bath. I do this 3-5 times a week. So I spend a lot of time in there. I … [Read more...]

How to get large prints for CHEAP!!

I have seen this around the blogosphere quite a bit so you might have already seen this tip. But in case you haven't, it is too good not to share. I love to decorate with photos. It's an important part of my home decor. I think it shows your family that you love them enough to put them in prominent places in your home. A long time ago someone told me that children that have pics of themselves in their rooms have higher self esteem. I don't know if this is true or not but it makes … [Read more...]
Pumpkin Patch Decor
We always go to the pumpkin patch with our family every year. It’s tons of fun. Last year, I decided to do these Apple Gords for accessories. They do take a long, long time to dry but they turn out super cute. Here’s what mine look like now: Some people paint them to look more like apples. {source} {source} But I love the way mine dried. Announcements, Announcements
Ok so I’ve made some big changes here at Measured by the Heart. I was reading this post by Mandi at Vintage Revivals. Here’s what she said that got me: Tip #1. LOVE what you are blogging about. Love it so much that you would do it for FREE…All the months between July (when I started) and April I did it 100% for free, because I love it. So I started thinking what do I LOVE so much that I would do it for free. And the answer is digital design. I LOVE LOVE LOVE … [Read more...]
Thankful Thursday
Today I am thankful for something to look forward to. For those that don’t know, we are currently house hunting. It has been a hard process. Everything we love has a major draw back to it. Plus we are trying to stay in the same community so it completely narrows down our options. And I keep holding back on major craft projects because we are moving and half packed. So if you notice things getting a little sparse around here, just know that we are probably … [Read more...]
Speaking of blog Makeovers…
Oh wait. We weren’t speaking of blog makeovers. Well we are now. I did a few things to this ol Blog here. First of all, I made it wider. I love how it unclutters everything. There is a great tutorial here for how to make your blog wider. I also did a few things with my background image. I didn’t like how blogger had a limit of 300k for uploading your own background. So I uploaded mine to photobucket and then went into the html and added it … [Read more...]

The Idea Room is having a design contest. Amy is looking for a new header for her blog and decided to open it up to her readers. I am excited!! I think this is a great contest.
