Father's day is coming up everyone. Do you have your gifts ready? I sometimes think this can be a hard holiday to shop for. I tend to think electronics, but do you really know what they would want. Or which items go with their systems. Ask a guy what they want for a gift and you usually get I don't know, oh anything etc. So you go to the store and pick up a tshirt. Or is that just me? This year, how about a gourmet gift basket? One of you guys could win one of these baskets … [Read more...]
Our favorite {family friendly} shows

Thanks to Netflix for sponsoring this post and letting me share my families favorite shows with you! We are a BIG Netflix family. We have subscribed for years. In fact, Netflix is one of the reasons we decided to cut the cable cord. It's great having a big database of shows to pick from when we want to watch. And we LOVE not having to run out and pick up a movie. We have been talking with our girls lately about media. Which shows and music are appropriate for them. As they are … [Read more...]
How to wear a buff and giveaway!

The nice people at Duluth Trading company heard I had a big gardening project coming up and offered to send me some work clothes. What I really love about these clothes is that They are designed for and tested in sweltering hot, high humidity heat. They don't look like your typical gardening clothes either. They have cool to the skin and moisture wicking properties built in. Plus UPF and UV protection. I was also sent a buff to wear and my girls LOVE it! So we decided to put … [Read more...]
Overnight French Toast Casserole

My husband's favorite food is breakfast food. He loves a good breakfast casserole. This overnight french toast casserole is one of our favorites. Doesn't that look delicious? It tastes like a cross between French toast and bread pudding. The pecan pralines give it a lovely crunch and are the perfect topping. What I love most about this casserole {besides the taste of course} is that it is a great make ahead meal. You need to put it in the fridge for a while before it is baked. … [Read more...]
My refrigerator and freezer won’t get cold…now what?

I have been wanting to switch out the products in my kitchen for more natural, non-toxic and eco friendly products. So when the honest company wanted to send me some stuff to try, I jumped at it. Aren't they the cutest? There is something about beautiful packaging that makes cleaning less of a chore. Really it does. Can you see the open empty fridge in the background? No, that is not how I keep it everyday. Yesterday my fridge and freezer decided it was time they got emptied and … [Read more...]
Utah’s own Fry Sauce recipe {dipping sauce}

I grew up in Germany. Spent my elementary school years there. When we came back to Utah, everyone was dipping their fries in what they called Fry sauce. Turns out it is a Utah thing. And it is SO YUMMY!! Fry sauce isn't just for fries, it is a great all purpose dipping sauce. Once you make this dipping sauce, you will never go back. It's incredibly versatile and you can't mess it up. The base is just ketchup and mayo mixed together. In a 1 to 1 ratio. You can just stop … [Read more...]
Monthly House Cleaning printable

This post is sponsored by SC Johnson. All opinions are mine. I have been in the mood for some Spring Cleaning. Specifically house cleaning. I've been wanting to get those jobs that don't need done all the time so you kind of put them off. Or maybe that is just me. I am pretty good with cleaning the kitchen and sweeping the floors everyday. I fall short on things like cleaning out the oven or sweeping the garage. I thought maybe if I made a list to keep myself accountable it might … [Read more...]
Updating a plain glass vase

I wrote this post as part of a campaign with Plaid and Blueprint Social. The opinions in this post are my own. My hubby bought me flowers a little while ago. They looked like spring in the middle of all the snow. It was such a great surprise. I like to dry and keep flowers. They remind me that someone was thinking of me. But I have a lot of plain glass vases. I wanted to do something to dress this one up a little. Enter FolkArt Enamels. I love their stencils. They are … [Read more...]
Surprise Talents

I am so excited to brag on my daughter today. Samantha is so creative and talented. She has always been an artist, but every day I am blow away by her talent. Here is some of her work: Isn't she great? She has never had lessons, she just comes by it naturally. Of course, practice makes perfect. She can always be found sketching or painting. She was excited to do a video tutorial for you guys. She is showing you how to draw Steamed Veggies in honor of Green giant. Art is … [Read more...]
