Why is Strength Training Important

Cardio is usually the first method that people consider when they want to lose weight. Lifting weights may seem like a thing only reserved for bodybuilders and those who want to be extremely strong. This could not possibly be farther from the truth. Strength training is an important part of any fitness program and has many benefits that are useful for a variety of people. Strength training is essential for everyone. It is not only important for those who have high intensity fitness goals.

Strength training has many benefits for the body.

Most people are aware of the two obvious benefits that strength training provides, namely muscular hypertrophy and maximum strength. Strength training has many other benefits, both physically and mentally.

Strength training has a number of goals, including increasing the amount of lean muscles on your body. This has obvious benefits for your physique, but an increase in lean mass also requires an increased metabolism! The more muscle mass you have, your metabolism will work harder each day, resulting in more calories burned.

Chronic illnesses: Conditions like diabetes, arthritis, obesity and heart disease are debilitating, and can lead to a reduced quality of life. Strength training can reduce the symptoms and help individuals manage these conditions better.

Beginners can easily get started with their fitness journey. Start with small steps, and gradually build up the habit. Spending 30 to 45 minutes on a 3 day full body split is enough for the first few days.
